Red Steel is definitely an interesting concept. A FPS that uses guns and sword fighting. However, with the clunky sword fighting sequences, an inane story, and tons of bugs and glitches, it isn’t the best in the world. It has nice destructible environments, but it isn’t the right way to make this type of game. Overall, I’d say rent it and see if you like it.
Pros:
+ Interesting take on first-person shooter controls
+ Nice explosions and destructible environments
Cons:
- Clunky sword-fighting sequences slapped into the middle of all the shooting
- Inane story chock-full of painful dialogue and voice acting
- Numerous noticeable bugs and glitches
