FarCry 2 definitely brings that whole do what you want and how you want it feel from the tropical islands to the deserts in Africa. This game has a huge beautiful environment with great graphics and audio to immerse you into Africa. There is also a nice map editor for you to make your own custom games, a nice upgrade and weapon system, and lastly, a huge single player campaign that can be over 30 hours long. However, traveling long distances can be boring and the story isn’t all that great. Overall though, this is a very fun game and if you liked the first one, you should at least give this one a try.
Pros:
+ Incredible amount of freedom to approach each mission
+ 50 square kilometers of visually stunning African landscape
+ Hefty single-player campaign should take at least 30 hours
+ Diverse reward and upgrade systems feed off each other very well
+ Robust map editor on all three versions
Cons:
- Story does very little with politically-charged setting
- Traveling for long stretches can become tedious
