Major League Baseball 2K9 is the latest baseball game out for the Wii from the 2K Sports category. This game has a wii remote motion sensor that feels right for a baseball game. The animation in the game is also believable. However though, there are many down sides to this game. There are a few issues with controls for pitching and hitting as well as some very ugly visuals for the game. The play by play is also very dull and generic. Overall I would that this game is a swing and a miss in terms of a good Wii baseball game.

MadWorld Review

MadWorld is another unique game for the Wii where you play as a guy named Jack. Jack is working his way up the ranks and destroying everything in his path. This game has a great black / white design, a funny obscene running commentary, and an intense / bloody combat that is always fun and interesting. However, if you lose your last life on a boss, you must restart the whole level over again (who uses lives anymore?) There are some bad camera and controls issues and the game is very short. Overall though, if you are looking for a new artistic beat em up game then check this out.

Boom Blox Review

Boom Blox is a different game compared to many other games out there on the Wii. This puzzle game has hundreds of puzzles with a strong competitive multiplayer and coop. This game also has a level creator that adds a ton of replay value. However, the game can feel repetitive and with the escort missions it loses it’s fun value. There is a story involved but the characters are so bad that you wish there wasn’t one. Overall though, this is a puzzle game for the Wii and there aren’t that many out there. Try it out.

Animal Crossing: City Folk Review

I am new to the Animal Crossing universe but I figure that I would give it a shot when Nintendo was tossing in a Wii Speak with every game. This game has you start out moving into a city and building up your life there. There is some genuine funny dialog and characters as well touring the areas in town for when you are a bored. This is a game you could probably play in short bursts not a problem. However, some people repeat the same dialog constantly and date / time dictate your progression. Also from what I am understanding there is nothing really new added to the table compared to the previous editions. Overall though, if you are looking for some different and want a Wii Speak then try this out and see what you think.
