Red Faction: Guerrilla Review

Red Faction has returned in this newly long awaited game for the 360, PS3, and PC. If you don’t know the story of Red Faction, the deal is this; destroy everything. The game has completely destructible environments and a long challenging single player that you will come to enjoy. It also has excellent multiplayer modes that look great and sound amazing. However, the story of the game is weak and the game can be repetitive at times. Overall though, this is a great game and you have to give it a try if you are a Red Faction fan.

Halo 3: ODST Review

Halo 3: ODST has finally reached store shelves and I decided to grab a copy the first day of release. This game has everything that you would expect in Halo but the game puts you in the shoes of a human rookie working with the ODST. They also have an added mode titled Firefight which is essentially the same as horde mode from Gears of War 2. The campaign is well paced with tons of great moments and the between level section when you play the Rookie are engaging and moody. In terms of multiplayer, there are 3 new maps and there is no Flood in the game at all. However, the multiplayer is recycled content from Halo 3 and if you bought all of the new Halo 3 maps then paying 60 dollars on this feels like a rip off. With a short campaign and just firefight, it leaves people wanting more. The game’s damage indicators can also be annoying at times. Overall though, if you are a Halo fan and want more of a Halo experience, play this game.

Guitar Hero: Metallica Review

Guitar Hero: Metallica has been released and this brings the Metallica band to the Guitar Hero universe. This game has a great array if Metallica songs with a solid setlist that provides many other solid acts. There is also a lot of Metallica flavored extras and a new level of challenge for expert drummers. However, the game is not a great value and the only DLC that is supported is the Death Magnetic album. Overall though, this is a solid game for the Guitar Hero series and probably one that was needed. If you like Guitar Hero, try this game out.

Battlefield 1943 Review

Battlefield 1943 is in my opinion the Battlefield 1942 era with 4 maps using the Battlefield: Bad Company destruction engine and polished graphics. This game has balanced, powerful classes, strategically important vehicles, meaningful destructibility, and well designed maps. However, the voice chat feature doesn’t work as well as it should and the squad system although a good idea seems a bit imperfect. Overall though, if you enjoyed the Battlefield games of the past then you will probably enjoy this game as well.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot Review

Condemned has returned with all of the original cast to bring you a more gruesome and fulfilling hand to hand combat game. This game has a good number of creative weapons to pummel your enemies with including some neat new finishers that are found within the environment. The visuals and audio are well done as well giving a grimy feel to the game. Lastly, the evidence gathering device has also been greatly improved and is a lot more fun. However, the multiplayer is really a waste of time, the gunplay isn’t as good as the melee, and there are some attempts in variety in the game but it still feels like you are doing the same thing over and over again. Overall though, if you liked the first game then you should probably want to try out the second.
