Animal Crossing: City Folk Review

I am new to the Animal Crossing universe but I figure that I would give it a shot when Nintendo was tossing in a Wii Speak with every game. This game has you start out moving into a city and building up your life there. There is some genuine funny dialog and characters as well touring the areas in town for when you are a bored. This is a game you could probably play in short bursts not a problem. However, some people repeat the same dialog constantly and date / time dictate your progression. Also from what I am understanding there is nothing really new added to the table compared to the previous editions. Overall though, if you are looking for some different and want a Wii Speak then try this out and see what you think.

Boom Blox Review

Boom Blox is a different game compared to many other games out there on the Wii. This puzzle game has hundreds of puzzles with a strong competitive multiplayer and coop. This game also has a level creator that adds a ton of replay value. However, the game can feel repetitive and with the escort missions it loses it’s fun value. There is a story involved but the characters are so bad that you wish there wasn’t one. Overall though, this is a puzzle game for the Wii and there aren’t that many out there. Try it out.

Dead Space: Extraction Review

Dead Space: Extraction was released to bring a new story to the Dead Space universe but also to give Wii owners a chance to experience the scare for themselves in something different. Extraction is a rail shooter where you simply point and shoot as you progress through levels. I have to say that this aspect can work very well after seeing the first level. The visuals and ambiance are great and you can unlock fully voiced comics that help progress more of the story. However, the reticle in the game can obscure too much at times and the camera can make it a little tough to shoot at times as well. Overall though, everything you want from Dead Space is in this game and I believe Wii owners will have no problems with it.
