Rating: 6.5 Out of 10
Mirror’s Edge was one of the first games of it’s time offering a running FPS (I guess you could call it a FPR / FPS.) Anyways, the DLC was just released recently and I got some time to sit down and mess around with it. For 800 Microsoft points you get a total of 7 new maps and 9 new time trial levels. These areas look amazing and they are really a step out of the city that you use to know. The new achievements of the DLC are pretty straight forward, 30 out of the 250 for a 70 star rating and 100 out of the 250 points is for a 90 star rating which is 3 staring all but 6 levels. The other 120 is for pulling off certain combos and once you find the areas to do those at, it’s easy. However, this doesn’t seem to be worth the 800 points because if you aren’t really the hardcore Mirror’s Edge fan (the one that likes to get the 3 stars for each level), you could be like me and get a 1 star on everything, maybe 2 and be done with it in like an hour max. Overall, it’s nice to see some DLC for the game but if you don’t really care for the time trials or the star ratings, there isn’t really much value to these 7 levels.
Pros:
+ New Achievements
+ New Areas to Explore
+ Areas look great
Cons:
- Not worth 800 points
- Really for the hardcore Mirror’s Edge players
- Only 9 new time trial levels?
