Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood Review

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is the next step in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Following the events right after the 2nd game, Brotherhood expands the AC2 game with the setting of Rome. Rome is a huge environment with amazing details inside and out. You can go to the many monuments and explore them inside and out. What you come to expect in the game is here as well as some extra things you would not. For example, there are doctors, banks, tailors, etc, but you have to buy each stall in Rome to use them. This also increases the value to Rome itself where every 20 minutes you can collect gold from the banker. There is also the new assassin recruitment / calling where you can now call other assassins to do your dirty work which I have to say is very nice to see. The missions are fun and vary in content and the lairs provide some fun puzzles to figure out. However, there are occasionally some glitches that will cause the game to stop working or hinder your progress. Also the new multiplayer addition to the game is fun but can be very random in the spawning. You may spawn right next to someone hunting you, or you can spawn right next to someone you are hunting. Overall though, the AC2 formula continues with Brotherhood and with the extra features, it makes for an awesome continuation of the series.

Assassin’s Creed II DLC: Bonfire of the Vanities Review

The 2nd piece of DLC for Assassin’s Creed II titled Bonfire of the Vanities is now out. This fills in the last missing chapter in the Assassin’s Creed II story, Chapter 13. Again, the DLC will load automatically once you load into your game. It will start right where the previous one ended. Savonarola has the Apple and now controls all of Florence. It is up to Ezio to stop the madness he is causing and to recover the Apple before it is too late.

Assassin’s Creed II DLC: Battle of Forli Review

The Battle of Forli is the first DLC for Assassin’s Creed II. This DLC is specifically Memory 12 of the fragmented memories that you could not obtain from before. The DLC starts as soon as you load your game. You will be taken to the loading screen where your friends piece together the fragmented data. Ezio and the gang take a look at the Apple and discuss how it must not fall into the wrong hands. They believe that Forli is the best stronghold for that. When they arrive in Forli you are reintroduced to Caterina Sforza who is now in charge of Forli after having her husband killed. However, the city has been taken siege by the same assassins that helped Caterina; these are the Orsi Brothers. Your job is to retake Forli, eliminate the brothers, and keep the Apple protected.

Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines Review

Assassin’s Creed moves on to the PSP where you play as the great Altair yet again. This game takes place after the events of the first Assassin’s Creed. The game has the basic elements from the original that you would come to expect. Beat up, courier, interrogation, assassination missions with main objectives and eagle points to get your bearing of the maps. The game has the same fighting system with the always fun counterattacks and great sound effects. However, the platforming for the game can be a little awkward and the areas are very barren. Lastly, when you do trip an alarm, you may initially start with 2 guards but you will end up killing around 8 because they randomly all decide to show up where you are. Overall though, this game is based on combat and not much else. If you are an Assassin’s Creed fan, you will probably enjoy this but I would definitely try it before you buy it.

Assassin’s Creed II Review

Assassin’s Creed II has finally been released and it improves almost everything from the original. This game has a huge beautiful world to explore following the new Assassin, Ezio. This time around you have a lot of new abilities, weapons, and items at your disposal as well as followers. Dual hidden blades are nice and you can always distract a guard with a lady or two. The production value is amazing with an interesting aspect of world events. The tombs feel very ambient and definitely have that Tomb Raider sense of platforming. Not only have the weapons and abilities improved, but the missions as well. You will no longer feel like you have to do the same thing over and over again like the previous game. You can find treasure, build up your city, collect feathers, race, assassinate, be a courier, do the main quest line, search for secret glyphs on monuments, etc. All said and done, it improves upon the original in every way. However, some additions are a little contrived and there are some visual quirks / bugs. Overall though, Ubisoft has done it again and have improved their formula to the Creed. I would recommend getting this if you enjoyed the first one.
